The lives of DI Cadi John and DS Owen Vaughan are shaken by the discovery of the body of a young woman on the banks of a river. As they discover the girl's identity, it seems she may be just one of a number of young women to go missing in the area. What secrets are lurking in this spectacular area of North West Wales?

Lowri Driscoll, a local nurse, catches the eye of Dylan Harris. Cadi and Vaughan learn more about the tough life that Mali led when they go and visit her school friend, Sara Dean. Unwelcome visitors descend on Dylan and Iona Harris' house when they call to enquire if any of the residents noticed anything unusual the night before the discovery of Mali's body.

The police investigation enters a new phase when DI Cadi John and DS Owen Vaughan are called to the scene of a potential kidnapping in the middle of the night, and their concerns that a serial kidnapper is on the loose are confirmed, but a shocked Lowri Driscoll isn't able to offer any information about the identity of her attacker

Iona's temper worsens as she punishes Nia and the police visit Dylan to question him.

The police realise the horror of Mali Pryce's circumstances as the post-mortem results come in - and the urgency of the investigation increases.

The investigation leads DI Cadi John to Gladwell Prison where Endaf Elwy has spent over a decade locked away for the murder of his young niece, Anna Williams. On seeing Endaf, Cadi's suspicion that an innocentman has been wrongly accused is confirmed. DS Owen Vaughan comes to realise that Megan Ruddock has become the serial kidnapper's latest victim, and Megan comes to see that she may have an unlikely ally in Dylan's young daughter, Nia.

The police investigation culminates with DI Cadi John realising who the serial kidnapper is, and all available police are released. However, on reaching the house, the kidnapper is long gone, and the manhunt continues. Nia, Dylan's daughter, performs a brave act that is beyond her years. The long-simmering tension between Alun Pryce and Ieuan Rhys reaches a boiling point as both men realise that there is no amicable resolution to their argument. Desperate to atone for his mishandling of the Endaf Elwy case, Huw John begs Cadi to make things right. The professional and familial pressures on Cadi mount.

With Iona Harris under arrest and Nia Harris safe with child support workers, all of DI Cadi John and DS Owen Vaughan's attention is focused on Dylan Harris and bringing him to justice for all the suffering that he has caused. This goal is especially personal to Cadi, who is working to atone for her father wrongly accusing Endaf Elwy of a murder that Dylan committed. Megan Ruddock realises that whilst her ordeal with Dylan is over, the journey to full recovery and acceptance of who she is a longer one. Life will never quite be the same for those affected by Dylan's actions

When the body of a former schoolteacher is discovered in a house on the outskirts of Blaenau Ffestiniog, D.C.I. Cadi John and D.S. Owen Vaughan are called upon to lead the investigation.

D.C.I. Cadi John and D.S. Owen Vaughan pay Karl Lewis a visit. Mia tries to draw Connor closer to her.

The community comes together to pay its respects to Geraint Ellis. Mia succeeds in drawing Connor closer to her.

DCI Cadi John has to release Karl Lewis because of a lack of evidence. Mia, Connor and Lee cause trouble for Hefin, Beca and Sion at the petrol station.

Hefin discover Sion Wells' body at the petrol station and now D.C.I. Cadi John and D.S.Owen Vaughan have to deal with two separate murders.

DCI Cadi John and DS Owen Vaughan succeed in apprehending Mia, Lee and Connor, but there is only a hollow sense of victory.

A man's body is found in a river and Cadi and Vaughan are called to investigate.

Father McEwan comes to see Glyn to ask how he is coping with what happened - to Siôn's shock. Cadi has to face facts that she hurt someone important to her.

Cadi and Vaughan interview Piotr, a Polish man working in the old hospital, but he has little knowledge. The sisters say goodbye to the house on the island.

Cadi throws herself into her work, and Siôn receives bad news in his work and demands answers from Father McEwan.

News arrives at the police station that a body has been found, and Cadi and Vaughan reach a realization about the case.

Cadi and Owen race to prevent Sion from doing something desperate. With the case solved, Cadi realizes she can't leave Wales behind without taking one last chance.
