A rich recluse Claudia Menlo (Crawford) who has been sightless throughout her life will spare no expense to see. Sidney (Bosley) plays a small time petty hood who owes money and will do anything to get it. Claudia gets Sidney to agree to give up his eyes for the money he needs. Claudia tells her eye doctor that she knows there is an experimental procedure so that she might see again. It turns out that Claudia's doctor is one of only four eye doctors in the world that can perform the risky surgery. In an experimental optic nerve transplant that will give Claudia at most (12) hours to see, but she is not deterred. Claudia doggedly hounds the doctor to acquiesce to her demands and perform the surgery using blackmail. What transpires can only be called, short sighted...
