Menoumaru, a demon and son of Hyoga, who has been sealed by Inuyasha's father 200 years ago, desires the power of Tetsusaiga for a special task. But instead of asking Inuyasha for it, he takes Kagome hostage and tricks him. The result is that Menoumaru turns even more powerful than before.

Together with his female demon underlings Ruri and Hari he manages to turn friends into foes and lovers into haters.

Many years ago, Inuyasha's father, the Great Dog Demon, wielded the Three Swords of the Fang. Upon his death he bequeathed a sword to each of his sons, Inuyasha and his rival brother, Sesshomaru. A 30-minute Inuyasha feature titled Kuroi Tessaiga screened on Takahashi Rumiko's picture exhibitions across Japan. In January 2010, this special ended up, slightly edited, as episode 15 of Inuyasha Kanketsu-hen. Kagome leads a fairly normal life, in spite of her weird family. Her house is a thousand-year-old Japanese temple, and her grandfather talks about the history of the house endlessly. Legend has it that the old well on the temple grounds keeps a vicious ancient monster at bay; Kagome never believed those legends, until now. The well opens up and sucked Kagome inside transporting her to an ancient time of enchanted forests and giant demons.
