Son of Zorn Season Premiere

And I don’t know if I’ll keep watching.

Son of Zorn recently premiered on Fox and tells the story of Zorn (voiced by Jason Sudeikis) an animated Conan type who wants to reconnect with his real world son Alan (Johnny Pemberton). Zorn returns to Orange County, California to find that his ex-wife, Edie (Cheryl Hines) has recently remarried to Craig (Tim Meadows) and his son Alan has begun to move on as well. In an effort to stay relevant, Zorn decides to move to Orange County to be close to his family and hilarity ensues! Check out the trailer below.

While the concept is original, the actual story isn’t and neither are the characters. Edie is the ever nagging female whose only role is to say no to whatever her son or Zorn want while simultaneously struggling to keep her eyes off of Zorn’s robust cartoon body. Sudeikis as Zorn is not a great choice, in my opinion, because he’s almost too obnoxious. Where Will Arnett fits perfectly in BoJack Horseman’s body, Jason does not. I don’t want him anywhere near the family and I could barely take a half an hour of his shenanigans. I’ve watched all three seasons of BoJack Horseman and the most recent finale was incredible. That cartoon show moved me, this one did not.

The redeeming feature of this show was Craig who is a psychology professor, for an online university, who is unusually candid. The way he explained what Zorn was doing and why he was doing it was quite funny and the scene in which he talks to his class about being emasculated was delivered in true Tim Meadows fashion. BUT, he could not save this show.

I’m not sure if I’ll watch another episode, I probably won’t. However, if you’ve caught it, what did you think? Comment below!

Well, it's certainly no Roger Rabbit, that's for sure!
To be honest, this series never really appealed to me much at all. A friend asked me if I'd seen it and was absolutely raving about how good it was, so I gave it a go.

I will not be watching it again. Thank goodness it's only 21 minutes I wasted & even that was too much.

This show's concept is too ridiculous to even bother to watch. Cartoon mixed with real life? Are you kidding me?

I like the show as well. I'm committed.

I like the show. The style reminds me of 'space ghost' and i'm curious to see how the characters and story further develops.
