BBC's The Coroner is axed!

Yes, you read that correctly. The BBC One daytime drama, The Coroner, will not be renewed for a third series.

The show's main star, Claire Goose has tweeted the following:

"It is with huge sadness that I have to say that is true. We are all devastated at this decision. We are not sure why as it has been hugely successful here and abroad and we won an RTS award for it too. It was a tremendous pleasure working with all the crew. I'm lucky to have worked with @mattbardock @beatieedney @IvanKaye1 @SallyAbbott3 @graciehedgehogg #talentedbunch ❤️ them dearly"

Grace Hogg-robinson, who plays Beth Kennedy in the series has tweeted "I've just begun to read tweets and all I can say is thank you to everybody for the enthusiasm, support &love you're showing us ❤️ #thecoroner"

Sally Abbot, writer for the show has tweeted "The BBC have made the decision not to renew #TheCoroner. We're all devastated. It was a show made with love and we're so so proud of it."

The news of this saddens me deeply. The Coroner is such a great series and it will be greatly missed. Maybe the fact it was shown on a weekday afternoon slot is the reason? I am pretty sure if it were re-run in an evening slot, more viewers might have tuned in.
Many people I've spoken to simply do not even know this show existed in the first place because it always aired while they were at work.

In my opinion, this is a really bad move by the BBC. Will support get a change in their decision? Who knows!
Please, share your thoughts and support for this delightful show, below and if you can, show you're support on twitter with #TheCoroner

I really liked that show. This show felt like a night time show.

It was like a Midsomer Murder to me. I am so bummed out. And they canceled DCI Banks which I really liked too.
