Friendship is a Million Little Things

421635.jpgA Million Little Things, created by D.J. Nash (producer on Bent, Up All Night, and Guys with Kids), is abc’s newest family drama set to premiere on Wednesday September 26.

The series focuses on a group of friends all struggling with different issues, from infidelity and drug addiction, to cancer. Though they have known each other for a long time what they discover after one of the friends commits suicide is that they may not know each other very well. Not on any real emotional level.

The ensemble cast features Ron Livingston (Sex and the City, Drinking Buddies, Boardwalk Empire) as Jonathan Dixon, the successful businessman who unexpectedly and inexplicably commits suicide. Within their grief lays the guilt over how they could’ve missed the warning signs; how they had no idea he was struggling at all. Not even his wife, Delilah, (played by Stephanie Szostak, Iron Man 3, Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce) had an inkling of what was to come.

As they work together to find a reason for Jon’s suicide, they discover hidden truths about one another and themselves. In his speech at Jon’s funeral Eddie (David Giuntoli, Privileged,Grimm), a stay-at-home dad struggling with marital problems, says that Jon always said ‘Everything happens for a reason’ and while the friends can’t figure out what the reason for his death is, it would seem it is the driving force to bring them together and even save their lives. It is what ultimately teaches them “friendship isn’t a big thing-it’s a million little things.”

Catch the premiere of A Million Little Things Wednesday at 10pm on abc.
