Ratings Roundup for the Week of September 29, 2019

CBS premiered its Sunday and Wednesday programs last week. God Friended Me and NCIS: Los Angeles both opened well. SEAL Team was about where it ended last season, while SWAT dropped. Both shows are in the magic season three zone and are practically guaranteed a fourth season, so fans of SWAT have little to worry about. Of the new comedy shows, Bobs (Hearts) Abishola lost two tenths off its premiere. It needs to hold where it is if it wants to see January. The Unicorn and Carol's Second Act were steady. On the drama side, All Rise lost a tenth, while Evil was steady. Right now it's a big if either will see a back nine episode order.

ABC premiered its Sunday night schedule last week. The Rookie opened about where it ended last season, it can't afford to lose much if it wants a season three. Of the three new shows, Mixed-ish and Emergence each lost two tenths, Stumptown was steady. Numbers for Fresh Off The Boat are getting painfully low, it's hard to see how it will see another season.

NBC premiered The Blacklist last week with numbers down a tenth from where it ended the season. If they don't come up a bit, this may be the last season for Red and company. Sunnyside likely won't even last it's initial episode order. Enjoy it while you can, it won't be around much longer. Perfect Harmony was even with its premiere, but it's not long for the world, either. Bluff City Law lost a tenth, but as long as it doesn't lose anymore, it should squeak into season two.

FOX premiered its Sunday night programs last week. Freshman series, Bless The Harts was even with the rest of the Sunday night fare, and should be safe for now. Prodigal Son was even with its premiere. If it holds there, it should be renewed. Almost Family premiered after The Masked Singer, and it should have been a huge ratings success as a result. Instead, the show lost more than half of its lead-in audience. It may see a back nine order if it manages to hold the eyeballs it has now, but its future is iffy at best.

The CW spent last week running the iHeartRadio Music Festival and reruns. Penn & Teller: Fool Us wrapped its season and took the top spot on for the network. Even for a summer show, the numbers for Pandora were bad. Hard to imagine it seeing a second season.
