Al Jursak

A developmentally-challenged man who delivers books at Mercy General, Al Jursak falls prey to Brady's mental control. When Al "spaces off" while playing the Fishin' Hole game on his Zappit, Brady is able to control him and send him out to do his bidding. When under Brady's influence, Al has no memory of what happened but can sense Brady's presence in his mind as what he describes as a "slime trail".

Under Brady's control, Al breaks into DA Montez's home, kills his dog, and ransacks his place. The police soon find Al's blood-stained clothes and arrest him, but Al's brother Reggie bails him out. The two brothers prepare to go on a fishing trip, but Al fall under the influence of the Zappit game. Brady takes control of him, makes Al kills Reggie, and then sends him to attack and presumably kill Bill. Ida comes over and sounds her rape alarm, which distracts Al long enough for Bill to shoot the man dead.

When not under Brady's influence, Al is a lovable bear of a man. He loves animals, persistently watching the same TV show about elephants on Brady's TV. When he was biten by a dog at the age of 8, he was the only one who didn't want the dog put down.
