Episode Discussion

Gradually over the years, Fantasy genre serials have come into fashion. Many aimed squarely at the YA audience/demographic. Well, sigh of relief, this series isn't. It is fully Adult and WELL WRITTEN with adult characters, adult drama, adult dialogue and all did I mention. Oh so well written and developed.

Game of Thrones really opened the door for episodic/serial television Fantasy programming. Especially Werewolves, Vampires and Witches... Oh my! And so much more.

This series is based on The Witcher series of video games based on The Witcher series of books. The books are a hit and award winning due to top notch writing. The last Witcher game wrapped a series that was in itself award winning and stayed essentially true to the written book source material. And the series here completely breaks the mold. What mold? The near cliche that game based series and movies tend to SUCK!

Well... The Witcher series stays faithful to both the game and books. With the lead character Geralt, played not only by a top actor that bears an uncanny natural resemblance to the video character, but also is a FAN. A complete nerd that has played through the games at least one play through each AND has read the novels.

So he brings a deep appreciation of the character to life. And I must say. Wow! Does it well. It is uncanny to see this character I have played over 500 hours in gaming come to life. As a bonus, you can play your character your way. The game is open world. And the series depicts pretty much my preferred way of playing Geralt. But that's just me. The show is must see. So... Watch! Because you MUST SEE this!

 I love this series!

Great series with a big flaw. Season ends just a little further from where it begun. I understand that is the scenario but writers and producers must also understand that this leaves us with the unfullfilling feeling that too little development was made with too much time to wait for progressing the story (2021 really netflix?). And i cant help but wonder if second season does the same. So either progress the story further in a season or keep the seasons closer chronologically. We got our own destinies to care for, you know.
