Animated and not relevant to the show. It's a fable told to, what could have been any little girl, that instantly helps her get over her fear of the dark.
It's an interesting piece of work, the animation was done well, nice story/fable, and although worth watching for what it is, it's not my preference for these shorts.
My preference would be to see more shorts showing the interactions between the characters in the show outside of the drama that occurs in the show. Fear of the dark is common to many children and adults. If the goal was to illustrate how Michael Burnham become the woman she is today, or even if it was meant to just show one small piece of her life on how she conquered a fear, this really missed the mark. 7 for the fable and animation, but a 3 for relevance.
