After a thoroughly bad experience with October Faction I was hesitant to give this a try but I did and I enjoyed it.
Bode was obviously the MVP of the whole thing.
I feel like if you removed the mother, the show wouldn't really change all that much. Which brings me to my 2nd biggest gripe, alot of the characters actions just seemed to be box checking and not really rooted in established personalities or motivations, more like, "they are teenagers so here's a list of things they have to do at some point in the series".
While I give the writers credit for having relatively intelligent characters when they weren't "box checking", there is still the matter of my number one gripe, the catalyst. All of this started because some woman wanted to see her dead high school flame from 20 years prior. I don't know, just seems a bit lame.
Overall I'd give the season a 7.4. No wheels were invented but I found it to be a worthwhile investment of my time.

i just finished season one and really enjoyed it. Keeps you guessing most of the way through.
