I really hope he offered her some words of condolence that were cut in order for time.
I do think the parallels are there between Jones & Trump, seemed valid. Both were narcissists who thought they were above power/the law and wanted to form their own government. They managed to dupe and profit from uneducated, alienated people.
The only difference I see are that the fanatical followers of Jones were were lured by the idea they were creating a utopia, whereas the Tumpists are scared of some misunderstood boogey-man version of "Socialism", people who oppose facism and minorities.
And ultimately the Jonestown victims were forced at gunpoint to drink the poison vs. one could argue some Qannoners & Trumpests seemed like they'd happily martyr themselves at the Capital if they had to (though this could have been mere bravado/machismo that they espoused but may not have actually done if brought to the point).
