Paladin is forced to gun down a wanted man, and as he lies dying, the man makes sure the rest of the posse hunting him knows that he's willed everything he owns to Paladin.

Paladin rides up to a posse, introduces himself, and says that he was hired by James Sanders, the father of the man who Sam Tamitzer hung. One man, Pike, calculates that if Paladin joins the posse then they'll split the reward $100 each.
