Episode Discussion

The Ottoman version is much more detailed and better created compared to this first episode. Will see if I'll continue to watch.

The problem with historical series, and especially the ones that mix some pseudo historic reconstitutions with interview of real (I think) historians, is that you should at least TRY to be somehow accurate.

There are so many historical mistakes in the show that it is properly ridiculous.

Spoiler alert :

Faustine did not suicide, she had an accident in a military camp. She was not incinerate as Marc Aurele chose to burry her in Adrian Mausoleum. She had many adventures with centurions, gladiators and what not, but Avidius Cassius was not murdered because of that, but because of an attempt to seize power against Marc Aurele. He was declared public enemy by the senate.

Commodus was 13 at the time, not a young adult.

I don't mind artistic license and historic fiction (cf Vikings), but why trying to appear as some kind of History channel documentary when you obviously don't know anything about the Roman Empire to the point you don't even bother to read a wikipedia page.

Preposterous show.
