NBC puts undiscovered songwriters center stage to find the next hit song with new competition series

Aiming to find the next generation of hit songwriters, NBC and Universal Television Alternative Studio are bringing powerhouse producer Audrey Morrissey of “The Voice,” Eurythmics co-founder and producer Dave Stewart, Maroon 5’s Adam Levine and OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder together to produce “Songland.”

There is a YOUTUBE video by The Guitolgist and he claims this show was planned a couple back and that the contestants were required to sign a contract, part of which gave the rights to their music to the show. He said the contract had been revised, but the artists were still getting taken advantage by the network. He suggested that the artists have the contract reviewed by and attorney.
