Lawrence was born the son of Eastern European World War II refugees. He began his artistic training in the theatre department at Santa Monica College and earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of Florida. He returned to LA and began studying with legendary character actor Allan Rich.
Lawrence has appeared in numerous films, episodic television shows and commercials. He is a veteran of the LA stage scene and has appeared in over 40 plays. After belonging to several theatre companies, Lawrence and long-time comrade David Meiselman launched the American Latino Theatre in 2008.
Lawrence is an accomplished fine arts painter, martial arts instructor, and writer.
