Mike "Rooster" McConaughey started working with his father at age 12 in the oil fields of Texas. An honest, self-made man who lives the saying,
"high risk means high reward " McConaughey never finished college, but made his first million at age 30 working in the oil pipe business.
One year later, he lost it all, but this taught him everything he needed to know to become the multi-millionaire he is today.
Armed with a larger-than-life personality and a trusted reputation, this wheeler-dealer built a business empire worth millions out of a field of rusted pipe.
He takes calculated risks (and sometimes not so calculated), relies on his experience and good old fashioned gut-instincts when analyzing risk for a potential investment.
Now, McConaughey is the sole owner of DGM Supply, an oil pipe machine shop that specializes in buying and selling used pipe. He averages two to one profit on his pipe deals and his most recent multi-million dollar oil deal profited five to one in only two years.
In addition to being an active investor in the entertainment industry, Rooster also has a successful hand in many other business ventures such as technology, consumer products, ranching, real estate, water, corn, and oil.
Having been the beneficiary of other people believing and investing in him, Rooster has chosen to pass along his own success by investing in others through West Texas Ltd., an investment group he started with his friend and business partner Butch Gilliam.
