Sarah O'Brecht

Sarah was born and raised in Saint John, New Brunswick, CANADA, eh, to a Newfie father and Filipino mother. (Side Note: How I was born half-Asian and ended up with auburn hair, freckles and the nickname Casper the friendly ghost, I will never know.) She studied at Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts, Broadway Dance Center, American Theater Dance and CAP21 in New York City before graduating a Dean's Scholar from the University of New Brunswick with a BA Honours in English and French and a BEd. in Secondary Education.

When she graduated, she realized that she wasn't done with performing just yet and moved to Toronto to pursue a career as a musical theatre actor. Since then, she has played Belinda in Johnny Belinda for Smile Theatre and appeared in Guys and Dolls at the Segal Centre in Montreal, Chicago at Stage West Calgary (Mona, Roxie cover), and most recently in the Charlottetown Festival in the Canadian classic Anne of Green Gables (Side Note: Childhood dream. Seriously.), Alice Through the Looking Glass and as Ali in Mamma Mia! She just shot an episode of Good Witch for the Hallmark Channel and is currently working on her commercial voice demo.

When she's not performing, Sarah can be found improvising at Second City, writing and producing comedy sketches, dancing at Metro Movement, and teaching at several studios in the GTA. She is thrilled to be part of the incredible arts community in Toronto!
