Born in Seoul, South Korea, Soo-Hyun Kim took acting classes during his school years, making his first professional appearance in 2007 in the family sitcom Kimchi Cheese Smile, and in 2008 landed a lead role in the series Jungle Fish. He became a household name in South Korea playing a country bumpkin who turned out to be a musical genius in the 2011 teen-drama Dream High.
