Lauren Bray is an actress and producer, known for Brightwood (2014), Heart Strings (2013) and Lane 37 (2013).
When I was three years old, I remember people asking my five-year-old sister and me what we wanted to be when we grew up. She said she wanted to work at Luby's because she liked the hairnets, and I said a mermaid and an actress. While her dreams have changed, mine still haven't (I'm working on the mermaid thing and will not discuss it).
At age twelve, I began taking acting classes and performed in theaters around town until I shifted my focus to film. After developing Meisner technique in Austin, I started working on independent films and commercials, as well as writing and producing my own projects. I established a network of filmmakers and actors in Texas until I was recommended to make the move to Los Angeles-- the land of opportunity and little dogs. I'm thrilled to continue growing in my craft, acting both in dramatic and comedic works, and doing what makes me happy in this crazy city.
1) I'm pretty good at woodland creature imitations (Bullwinkle, the squirrel on The Emperor's New Groove, the chipmunk from Enchanted, and Gollum/Smeagol being the only ones I've discovered thus far), as well as Shakira.
2) Favorite actresses: Meryl Streep (she is queen), Shailene Woodley, Kate Winslet, and Jessica Chastain
3) Favorite actors: Tom Hanks, Daniel Day-Lewis, Ralph Fiennes, & Steve Carell (love him in The Office and just stand in awe at his work in Foxcatcher)
4) I have played on a muggle Quidditch team. I was placed in Hufflepuff, but I like to think that was only due to scheduling conflicts.
