Safe House Recap

At a house in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Naoki Himura is working on the house and talking to her wife over the phone. Naoki complains that the house needs more work than they thought and goes back to work. As Naoki pries off some wallpaper in the sitting room, the woman hears her daughter Kat scream upstairs. She runs up and Kat says that something bad is in the house and she heard footsteps. The girl complains that it's cold and Naoki says that they'll have the furnace on the next morning. She goes to get her daughter a glass of water, and the lights in the bedroom go out. The door slams shut and Kat hides under the bed. Footsteps approach the door and it opens, but there's no one there. A hand grabs Kat from behind and drags her away.

They ask about the night of the attack, and Naoki confirms that it was cold and the lights flickered. She agrees to let them check out the house and tells them where the hide-a-key is, and then goes back to her comatose daughter
