Spurred by news reports of SWAT teams searching the jungles of Papua New Guinea for a dinosaurlike beast, Josh travels to the little-explored South Pacific island nation to investigate sightings of an iguanodon near Tinganavudu, a remote village on the island of New Britain.

Before returning to the United States, Josh opts to investigate a second local legend, of a mermaidlike creature called the Ri, which has been reported in waters off the island of New Ireland.

The crew visit Thailand to investigate a dragon like monster and Khon Kaen, which has been a source for paranormal activity.

The team investigates Chupacabra sightings in Chile. Meanwhile, a giant bird is reported to live in Papua New Guinea, the crew investigates.

Josh and his crew visit Buenos Aires to investigate claims of a serpentine monster. Meanwhile, a Bigfoot-like creature is investigated in Malaysia.

The crew visit South Africa in search for the half-horse, half-fish Mamlambo and the bear-like Tokeloshe.

In the Australian wilderness, a so-far unidentified something creeps around. This creature, the Yowie, resembles the Himalayan Yeti and the North American Bigfoot. Like its overseas mythical cousins, this bizarre hybrid is said to be supremely elusive and a mix of human and ape. But the Yowie is a nocturnal scavenger.

An abandoned mosque in the jungles on the Malaysian peninsula is reported to be home of an evil spirit. Villagers in the region, including a powerful imam, won't even approach the mosque after sundown. Josh and his team travel to Kuala Lumpur to investigate this haunted ruin.

Orang Pendek, which means "short person", is the most common name given to an unconfirmed animal that reportedly inhabits remote, mountainous forests on the island of Sumatra.

Then on to the hunt for a huge worm said to reside in the remote Lake Lagarfljot in Iceland.

In the most remote corner of Indonesia is a mysterious cave that is both revered and reviled by local villagers. In one of the two entrances, villagers make offerings to the protective spirits that reside within and are alternately terrified of approaching the other opening. Regional news reports indicate that this cave is believed to be the source of great power and Josh and his team are compelled to investigate.

In Australia, an Aboriginal story tells of a creature called the Burrunjor. It walks on two legs and has two small forearms. This creature is said to be dangerous and is about 25 feet long.

According to mainstream science, the world's biggest bat is the Bismark flying fox, an animal that never gets larger than six feet from wingtip to wingtip. At least some cryptozoologists think the Bismark's reputation should be sunk.

Reports coming out of the Philippines describe huge, black creatures swimming the Tikis River, near the former mining village of Buhawen, scaring the daylights out of families for years. Locals first spotted the seven-foot creatures in 2001, after mistaking them for logs.

Aswangs are ghoulish creatures in Philippines, and, in fact, are the most feared supernatural creatures in a nation already rich in colorful folklore. They find their way into a wide variety of myths and stories. Aswangs feed on people and stolen cadavers, leaving behind facsimiles that they create out of tree trunks and other plant materials. It is their appetite for children, however, that really gets the attention of believing locals.

A crowded, dark forest bordering Mt. Fuji, Aokigahara is infamous throughout Japan as a popular spot for those taking their final journey. In 2002, 78 bodies were found within it. By May 2006, at least 16 new suicides had been found. No one knows how many bodies go undiscovered. Signs emblazoned with messages are nailed to trees throughout the forest.

Said to inhabit the depths of Lake Ikeda, Issie is Japan's answer to Nessie. Legends of a mythical creature in the lake have been swirling for centuries. In 1978 a tourist snapped a series of photos that made Issie headline news. While scanning the lake in the aftermath of an initial sighting, he quickly took a series of photographs. One of the photos seems to show two humps with spinal ridges.

Icelandic elves may be petite; they may be mild; and they may be myths, but they are a valued constituency. Government officials have rerouted a road in order to avoid disturbing rock believed to shelter elves. Polls indicate that most local residents won't rule out their existence. Children have reported encounters with the wee race, but so have some adults.

Ninki Nanka is a legendary creature based in West African folklore. Descriptions of the creature vary, but the consensus is that the animal is reptilian and possibly dragon-like. According to tradition, the Ninki Nanka lives in the swamps of West Africa. The animal is said to be extremely large and dangerous. It is believed that when children disobey their parents and go into the swamp, the Ninki Nanka will take them away. This creature's tales were never recorded but the story of it has spread from tribe to tribe all over Africa.

Then, meet one of the most terrifying and least-seen forest creatures: the Kikiyaon. Its very name can conjure a look of terror. It is described as resembling a large owl of human proportions. It has a large beak and raking talons on its arms and feet. In many respects it is a mixture of bird and human. The Bambara people say it has a huge pair of feathered wings that grow from its back. Sharp shoulder spurs serve as weapons if its razor-sharp claws fail. The Kikiyaon is said to be covered in short greenish-gray hair, and some reports speak of a short tufted tail.

In one of their most hair-raising experiences to date, Josh and team travel to Romania to investigate paranormal activity in the Hoia Baciu woods. According to local authorities, the forest is home to numerous sightings of apparitions and fleeting beams of light. In addition, these experts have remained puzzled about the presence of a "crop circle" in the forest. In the second investigation, the team heads to the Yucatán to explore the myth of the Alux, a pygmy like creature reported by Maya people.

South of Mexico City in the last of the old Aztec canals, there is an island that visitors claim is overrun by thousands of haunted dolls. Josh and team's chilling nighttime pursuit amongst the throng of sinister dolls yields some of their compelling on-camera evidence yet! From there, the crew dives headfirst into the deep waters surrounding Andros Island in the Bahamas in search of the most feared monster in the ocean - the eight-legged Lusca.

Josh and team head to Egypt, where they set out to make history as one of the only production crews in the world permitted to investigate inside King Tut's tomb at night. Then, the crew embarks on another unprecedented journey for the show's first-ever U.S.-based investigation: the search for a swamp ape living in the Florida Everglades.

In this chilling episode, the team embarks on a paranormal investigation at the desolate site of the world's worst nuclear accident: the Chernobyl power plant, located in what is now the Ukraine. Josh and team embark on their first UFO investigation in Chile, where, according to experts, an alien mummy was exhumed in the desert thousands of miles south of Lima. Then, Josh and the team engage in a fishing trip they won't ever forget: something massive may be lurking in a lake in Van, Turkey.

Joined by special guest stars Robb Demarest and Dustin Pari from Ghost Hunters International, Josh and team make their way to the jungles of Peru, where a terrifying creature resembling a gremlin is reportedly terrorizing the locals. Then, Josh and his team take on the age-old legend of the Bermuda Triangle, an area in the Atlantic Ocean infamous for pulling planes out of the sky and swallowing ships into the sea.

The team heads into the rugged mountains of Peru to investigate claims that the Incan ruins there are haunted. The investigation yields such compelling audio and visual evidence that Josh calls on expert analysts Steve Gonsalves and Dave Tango from Ghost Hunters to determine whether the Lost City is still inhabited with spirits. Then, the team takes their adventures to Alaska, where locals claim a giant winged bird is terrorizing their community.

The team travels to Romania, chasing recent reports about werewolf sightings. Then, the team flies to northern Chile to track down what some believe to be an ancient creature that managed to survive extinction.

Josh and the rest of the Destination Truth crew travel to Bhutan, Nepal to continue their search of the Yeti, after their exciting discovery of a mysterious footprint during a past investigation.

Josh and the team journey to Madagascar in search of the famed Fangalobolo beast. Deemed a deadly predator, this alleged monster bat has incited national frenzy. Next, Team Truth's Guam excursion leads them straight for trouble. In hopes of observing the feared Taotaomo'na spirits, the crew begins their mission near the territory's resident Latte Stones -- precisely where the zombie-like ghosts are said to materialize.

In the very first live broadcast of Destination Truth, Josh Gates and his Truth Team set out to find the "Irish angel of death," better known as the banshee.

Coiba Island, fifteen miles off the coast of Panama, was once the site of the infamously brutal Coiba penitentiary. Locals claim that the site of the prison is still haunted, which inspires Josh to investigate.

In Argentina, a huge beast known as the Ucumar is said to lurk in the Andes and feed on livestock. This "Argentinean Bigfoot," is described as having razor-sharp claws, thick fur and powerful legs. A recent uptick in sightings prompts Josh to look into it.

In Kolmanskop, a remote southern province of Namibia, Germans once erected a small diamond-mining town. The town has been uninhabited for more than half a century but recent reports say that the area is haunted.

In 2009, there was a report of a strange, hairless animal attacking a group of boys in a Panamanian town called Cerro Azul. The boys reportedly killed the animal by throwing rocks at it but when they returned, the animal was gone.

In Bangkok, Thailand, reports of a giant ghost called the Phret are not unusual but recently, an amateur recording of this phantom climbing Victory Monument in the middle of town has locals in an uproar.

A recent uptick in animal killings in Namibia has captured the attention of Josh and the crew. Not only have farmers been losing livestock, but the carcasses have also been completely drained of blood.

Josh and the crew head to Cyprus to investigate a massive sea creature.

Josh heads to Antarctica, a place he describes as, "the coldest and most unforgiving place on earth." Even though the continent has no permanent residents, many of the visitors to this arctic terrain have reported supernatural activity at an abandoned whaling station on a neighboring island. Similar reports have also come in about a place call Wordie Hut, also in the area. Josh grabs his gear, his team, and heads off to investigate.

The Destination Truth team undertakes a groundbreaking expedition to South East Asia, traveling deep into uncharted wilderness and pushing the limit on a daring quest for Vietnam's Bigfoot.

Josh's former cameraman, Evan, returns two years later to the woods where he believes he was assaulted by an angry, dark spirit. The forest may have something waiting for him again.

Josh and his team journey across Fiji looking for the ghosts of men devoured by a former cannibal tribe. Josh finds that the former cannibal village has turned into a paranormal nightmare.

It's hard to believe, but Kazakhstan (in Central Asia) is home to the greatest number of UFO sightings in the world. In fact, villagers in that region claim to have witnessed alien invaders lurking in the area.

In Sweden, reports of the Great Lake (or Loch Ness) Monster are so frequent that the monster is actually protected by law. There is even a 1000-year-old Viking rune stone in the area depicting the monster. Team Truth plans investigate the monster's known habitat and see if there is any truth to these long-standing reports of a 20 foot-long, lake-dwelling beast.

Deep in the forests of Guatemala lie the ancient ruins of a city named Tikal, where human sacrifice was once common. Now, locals claim to have witnessed paranormal activity in the area—could this be the work of spirits who can't find rest in the afterlife?

In the ocean near Fiji, sightings of a strange monster have terrified the locals. Often seen near the mangroves, this amphibious monster is said to have a diamond-shaped head, huge razor-sharp teeth, and an impenetrable armored shell of scales.

Since time immemorial, Transylvania has been the home to vampire myths and legend. There are many in the area, however, who believe that true vampires come in the form of a strange but dangerous animal with massive fangs. Could vampires be based on a real but rare animal?

In the Baltic Sea near Sweden, there is a small island named Bla Jungfrun. This tiny outcropping was once the place where people who were thought to be witches were executed. Perhaps the haunted souls of the innocent still haunt the area. That would certainly explain all the supernatural phenomena reported on the isle.

In the Philippines, there is a strange place called Echo Valley. In this valley, which is located on Luzon Island, the local Igorot tribe claims that coffins containing their dead are haunted. Strange lights, disembodied voices and even violent hallucinations have been reported in the area of these coffins.

The Kiyik Adam of Kazakhstan is said to be a huge, hulking creature that terrorizes the locals, not unlike the legendary Bigfoot. With a furry hide, bulging muscles and razor sharp claws, just the sight of this beast would be enough to drive many people mad and, since the locals are reporting frequent sightings, it's up to Josh to track the Kiyik Adam down.
