Lauren Branning is making an explosive comeback to Walford as @jacquelineMjos is set to reprise her role in the coming months!

Jacqueline Jossa (Lauren Branning) and Thomas Law (Peter Beale) returned tonight in scenes set in France, as the mystery surrounding the return of Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) continued, alongside the previously announced return of Adam Woodyatt (Ian Beale).

Tonight soap legend, Michelle Collins, made her comeback to EastEnders reprising her role as the legendary Cindy Beale, 25 years after her character died off-screen as she was revealed as Rose Knight, George Knight’s (Colin Salmon) long lost wife.

Keanu’s world is turned upside down this summer when Lisa Fowler, (played by @Lucy_Benjamin) makes an unannounced visit to Walford, bringing his daughter Peggy Mitchell with her. Why is she back? One thing’s for sure, where Lisa goes, trouble inevitably follows… #EastEnders

EastEnders will be saying an emotional goodbye to the iconic Dot Branning later this year when news reaches the residents of Albert Square that Dot has sadly passed away. June Brown, OBE, MBE passed away in April 2022.

EastEnders is currently filming scenes for a special flashback episode centred around the Mitchell family that will air this autumn. Jaime Winstone - who previously took on the role of Dame Barbara Windsor in BBC biopic Babs – will lead the cast as Peggy Mitchell. This unravelling of the Mitchells’ chequered past marks the beginning of a tumultuous journey for Phil as he is forced to confront some long forgotten truths... The episode will also feature characters from EastEnders history...

Actor Danny Dyer will leave EastEnders later this year, the BBC has confirmed. Dyer, who plays Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter, is not quitting immediately, with the BBC promising "plenty of explosive drama" before he goes. EastEnders said Dyer, who joined the show in 2013, had made Mick Carter into "an iconic character" who they would "always be grateful for". "Danny will be leaving EastEnders when his contract comes to an end later this year," it said in a statement.

For the first time in British television history, the country’s soaps and continuing dramas have joined forces to highlight the issue of climate change and environmental issues. Casualty, Coronation Street, Doctors, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Holby City and Hollyoaks have each filmed scenes, or have references, to cover different aspects of climate change and, in a soap first, five of the soaps will also be referencing each other as each drama will also give a nod to another.

BBC One will be celebrating EastEnders on Monday and Tuesday nights enabling viewers to continue to get their Walford fix when the show goes on an inevitable break due to filming being postponed.
