The Cleaning Lady

When whip-smart Cambodian doctor Thony De La Rosa comes to the United States for medical treatment to save her ailing son, she soon discovers her path won't be as straightforward as she had hoped. As the system quickly fails her, pushing her into hiding, she resolves not to allow herself to be beaten down and marginalized, and becomes a cleaning lady for organized crime. Using her cunning and intelligence, Thony forges her own path in the criminal underworld, doing whatever she has to to survive.

I tried, but this show just sort of meanders along. Not quite bad but not all that good either. As I said on the season 1 finale, there's stuff happening but it all comes across as going through the motions. Also, the character don't seem all that fleshed out and the acting isn't exactly oscar worthy.

I feel like this would have worked better as a 6-8 episode UK series. Aside from an abandoned storyline about drug dealing what did Fiona (or her children) even bring to the table. Arman's wife started out pretty fun with lots of potential then just became sad. I could go on but there just seemed to be alot of time filling and going through the motions of a series of highstakes escapades without the actual highstakes escapades.

Don't get me wrong, I'm game for another season, but they're definitely gonna have to trim some fat focus and stop trying to be 5 different shows.
