Ratings Roundup for the Week of January 4, 2026

NOTE: The federal holiday delayed ratings data.

ABC enjoyed a happy ratings boost thanks to the Monday Night NFL Wild Card game. These numbers are why networks are willing to pay billions to secure rights to air football. New docuseries, Dirty Talk: When Daytime Talk Shows Ruled TV, premiered to okay numbers. 9-1-1 picked up three hundred thousand viewers. 9-1-1: Nashville was up half a million viewers. Assuming it can hold onto those numbers, it should be renewed. The Rookie was up two hundred thousand viewers from its premiere. Will Trent was up one hundred thousand viewers. Shifting Gears lost one hundred thousand viewers, but is in no danger. Abbott Elementary was up one hundred thousand viewers.

CBS continued its schedule of repeats last week, something the other networks are likely thanking them for. Harlan Coben's Final Twist moved nights and picked up about a million viewers as a result. On a schedule of mostly repeats, it looks okay, but it likely won't see a second season. The Price is Right At Night was up three hundred thousand viewers. Hollywood Squares was even.

NBC feasted on the NFL Divisional Playoff game, picking up three million more viewers from the previous week's Wild Card game. The Hunting Party was up half a million viewers from its premiere. Brilliant Minds was down another three hundred thousand viewers. Fans of the Zachary Quinto-led series should start preparing for the bad news. If The Hunting Party manages to hold the audience it currently has, the odds of Brilliant Minds earning a third season dim significantly. St Denis Medical was down seven hundred thousand viewers last week, but is in no danger. Happy's Place returned after the holiday break, and picked up seven hundred thousand viewers. Stumble picked up two hundred thousand viewers from its last new episode, but its chances for renewal are slim. The Wall lost six hundred thousand viewers off its premiere. If it doesn't improve, it may be done.

FOX premiered Fear Factor: House of Fear behind a huge NFL overrun last week. It will be interesting to see how much of that audience returns when the show is in its regular timeslot. Speaking of NFL-inflated numbers, Animal Control returned last week after a few weeks off, losing more than four million viewers from its premiere behind an NFL overrun at the end of December. The good news for fans is that it was up about one hundred thousand viewers from where it ended last March. Going Dutch opened its second season to abysmal numbers. Its currently the low-hanging cancellation fruit for the network. Best Medicine held most of its premiere audience, only losing three hundred thousand viewers. Doc was even with the previous week's numbers.
