Ratings Roundup for the Week of April 19, 2026

FOX wrapped its two comedies last week. Animal Control and Going Dutch were both down two hundred thousand viewers for their finales. Animal Control was renewed a month or so ago. No word yet on the future of Going Dutch. The ratings for the Denis Leary-led series have not been great this season (they weren't too hot last season either), so its chances for renewal are likely down to what new scripted content the network has lined up for next season. Krapopolis closed out its third season at its usual low. The series was renewed through the 2028 season, but with so many animated shows running on the network now, don't be surprised if it gets pushed into summer moving forward. Fear Factor House of Fear was renewed for a second season last week. No real surprise. The network also premiered two more of its summer shows early.

ABC wrapped Abbott Elementary last week with a couple of back-to-back episodes. The finale was up four hundred thousand viewers for the first half and finished its season even with the previous week for the last half hour. The Greatest Average American closed out its freshman season, up one hundred thousand viewers. Its ratings were, frankly, average for the network, but it will likely be renewed on the strength of its lower production costs. RJ Decker was up one hundred thousand viewers last week. Depending on the number of new hour-long scripted shows the network has in the pipe for next season, the show could squeak a renewal, but fans shouldn't hold their breath.

NBC filled most of its schedule last week with NBA playoff games. The One Chicago shows returned after a week off. Chicago Fire and Med were even with their last new episodes. Chicago PD was up one hundred thousand viewers. Law & Order: SVU fans celebrated their show's renewal by watching something else. It was down more than a million viewers after the week break. Parent, Law & Order was down four hundred thousand viewers. Still no news on a renewal for the venerable series, but chances are high it will be back next season. Happy's Place returned after a week off, wrapping its second season with back-to-back episodes. The first half hour was up two hundred thousand viewers from its previous episode. The finale was down one hundred thousand viewers. The Hunting Party was even with the previous week's numbers.

Fall schedules are finalised, even if the networks haven't announced them yet, and upfronts are a couple of weeks away. Will your favorite shows be back next season?

Does he still do stand-up? I think the problem is that the two comedy shows are anomalies for the schedule. So much of FOX's content now is unscripted or sports. The few bits of scripted shows get lost in the mix. I'm also not sure how well any of them are promoted.
