To save Rufus and keep Rittenhouse from winning, Flynn realizes what he has to do. The team travels to Sutter's Mill in 1848 and meet Joaquin Murrieta--an inspiration for the story of Zorro--and take on Rittenhouse's last sleeper agent. However, Emma has a backup plan.

Future-Lucy writes in her journal about all the things in the past before time travel happened and things changed. All she could do was fight for their future after they lost their path, but they lost Rufus. Now it's up to the present Lucy to change history.
