Great Bend, Kansas: 1964 Flex Mentallo and his wife Dolores to the park to have a picnic, and townspeople cheerfully greet their hometown hero. He assures Dolores that she's the light of his life, and a young boy calls for help. Flex goes over and introduces himself, and the boy points out a kitten stuck up a tree.
