A five-year-old girl, Lyuda Izotova, was found dead among the rubbish in a house under construction. Investigators are struck by a wooden sword with a pigtail tied to it found next to her. At first, suspicion falls on a construction worker, Govorov, who often played with children. However, Govorov amazes investigators with a story about Luda's frequent fights with his brother Nikita.
