Episode 1

The first heat of The Great Sport Relief Bake Off sees four well-known faces don their aprons in this charity special hosted by Mel Giedroyc. Baking for Sport Relief in this heat are actress Sarah Hadland, TVgardener Joe Swift, botanist and broadcaster James Wong and actress Angela Griffin. Only one baker from each heat can go through to the final.

Their baking skills are tested to the limit as they face three classic Bake Off challenges - all devised by the Bake Off judges Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood.

First, the four bakers are challenged to produce a traybake. What some lack in experience they make up for in enthusiasm as they pull out all the stops. Paul and Mary surprise themselves as they mutter the words 'absolutely delicious' and 'stunning' during their first judging.

Next is the technical challenge and the pressure of the competition soon starts to show as the bakers are asked to make a perfect batch of wholemeal cheese scones following a Paul Hollywood recipe.

Finally, to wow the judges and win a place in The Great Sport Relief Bake Off final, they have to make a showstopping meringue dessert. In this second day of baking the competition hots up with four hours of intense baking. Novice baker, but keen cook and highly competitive, James goes all out to impress the judges with a high risk approach and Joe's lost for words when his family meringue recipe is executed so well it's described as 'superb' by Paul.

Only one baker can get a place in the final. Who's got what it takes to go all the way and compete for the first ever Great Sport Relief Bake Off crown?
