Elliot Page is a Canadian actor and producer. They are famous for his role in the 2005 film Hard Candy and Jason Reitman's Juno in 2007 which was nominated for several awards, including an Academy Award. He is also well known for his role in Inception and Netflix original series The Umbrella Academy. Elliot Page was born Ellen Grace Philpotts-Page on February 21, 1987, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He was assigned female at birth. His parents are Martha Philpotts, a teacher, and Dennis Page, a graphic designer. Page attended the Halifax Grammar School until grade 10, spent some time at Queen Elizabeth High School, and graduated from the Shambhala School in 2005. Page also spent two years in Toronto, Ontario, studying in the Interact Program at Vaughan Road Academy, along with close friend and fellow Canadian actor Mark Rendall.
On February 14, 2014, Page came out as gay and has been a well-known advocate of the LGBTQA+ community. Four years later, Page married professional dancer and choreographer Emma Portner. In December 2020, he came out as transgender and non-binary, announcing his new name as Elliot Page, pronouns he/they.
Portner has been supportive of her husband's transition as she shared a post with a touching caption. She stated how proud she is of her husband and also asked for patience and privacy as well as to be joined in the support of trans life daily.
