Watchlist 'eye' icons color

tnt wrote 9 years ago: 1

As far as i remember, watched episodes was marked by green 'eye', and unwatched by black. But some time ago 'eyes' for watched and unwatched episodes became almost indistinguishable

However, on mouse over unwatched 'eye' turns black, as it was before

Is it a bug or a feature? Or it's only happened to me? Checked with Chrome and Safari – looks the same.

If it's a feature, it's very inconvenient. On the hi-res retina it's very hard to tell one from the other. Especially with 75% zoom, which i usually have for editing, to fit any edit page on single screen :)

If it's a bug – what can cause this problem?

They've specifically chosen that colour - if you want it to be black without hovering over it, click here (requires installing an extension in Chrome)

Thank you, Tampermonkey script works like a charm.

When did they've changed it? Kinda strange...

I'm color blind, well not totally color blind, but me and about 3% of all men can't differentiate between colors that are as similar as these. I have absolutely no chance to see the difference.

I noticed they changed a little recently, its a lot more clearer to me now.

I was wondering how colorblind users would perceive the change and if there was a big enough contrast between the green and gray.

I'll look into it. Thanks for the feedback.

...and the extension and tool work like a charm!

We're currently working on a major revamp of the Watched feature (spoiler alert!) which means that this eye in the current form won't exist for much longer. Therefore I'm moving this thread off to Chat :)

Grey, beige or green. I can't see the difference. Unfortunately tvmaze is useless for me as long I can't tell what's what.

When David said we're working on it. He meant like 'now'.
We made the options visually different and the colors are farther apart to avoid any issues with color blindness.
You're welcome to give us feedback once it has been implemented which will be in the coming days.

Well, I'm not color blind. On the contrary i'm a professional colorist :) But still, the difference is so subtle, you have to scrutinize to tell the difference. With green and black it was very easy to see the difference at a glance.

On the subject of color - the current day shading on the calendar versus the 'watched' shading is similar also. I would vote that the 'watched' shading on the calendar should also be looked at for possible change.

Well..... I see you have made some changes. Still can't see the difference between the colours.

Please get real and use som contrasting colours! This site is still totally useless for me and 3% of the population on this planet.

There is a lot of guidelines out there on design that is useful for us with colour blindness. Use them.

Somehow I don't think the developers of this site takes me seriously.

There has not been a change yet, the change of the colors is coming the next days, only some final bits have to be done :)

Thank you for the clarification. I thought the change was in effect.

I see I have to revise my statement regarding 3% of the population on this planet. I meant 3% of the male population on this planet :-)

Seems that it's mostly men who suffers from color blindness.
