Can you please add Competition to either Show Type or Genre?

Can you please add Competition to either Show Type or Genre or combine Game Show/Competition together? I know you said 2 months ago you are not going to add anymore of either one however you did add "Panel Show" after you said that. Here is my argument of why Competition needs to be added. Some shows listed here as Game Shows are in fact not Game Shows and they do not fall under Reality there are competition shows. Most Sports shows are competition shows but Sports covers all those type shows. It's the competition shows "American Idol", "America's Got Talent", "Queen for a Day", "America's Next Top Model", Project Runway", "The Voice" there are hundreds of shows that DO NOT fall under game show or Reality and should be listed as Competition.

This new show i just now submitted is another example of a competition show! - This series brings together 12 celebrity stylists and salon professionals to compete in a series of challenges, from creating high-end editorial looks to the most current glam creations for red carpets and runway shows. At the end of the season, only one contestant will be named American Beauty Star.

I think Talent Show would be a more appropriate name for a show type like this, not sue it's really needed, tho.

You may be right Talent show or Competition but regardless Game Show and Reality show are not correct for any of my examples and 100's more so yes it is definitely needed to be politically correct unless they just don't really care?

Here is another example of a competition show - Gran Oportunidad - Competition program in which talent and good humor are the keys to success.

I think at this point in time no more genres will be added, sorry.

There are a huge number of shows that would fit a category of "Competition", including Survivor, Amazing Race, Big Brother, Face Off, etc. But it's too late to change it now. These shows, starting with (as I recall) Survivor, have been considered Reality shows along with Reality-Drama shows like The Kardashians, Jersey Shore, or the many Real Housewives shows.

I think a better way of dealing with reality would be to add more genres for it, just throwing Talent and Lifestyle out there.

There will be no more changes to Genres, but in general the list of Show Types is open for discussion.

I understand the point you make: a show like American Idol is not quite the same as Jackass, even though we currently list both of those as Reality. If you look at our policy's description for Game Show ("contestants competing in order to win a prize") that would pretty much apply to these kinds of shows as well. Perhaps renaming Game Show to Competition would be an idea?

Please don't expect this to get our highest priority, but thoughts are welcome.

Well let me first say that's a change in your philosophy. However instead of a change why don't you try something new you have never tried before and combine them together to cover every possible scenario? Game Show / Competition or are you 100% against combining anything for any reason?

While we are on this subject what about Soaps / Telenovelas that are way overdue. More than 70% of shows that are in the Spanish language in the U.S., Mexico, Argentina, Puerto Rico, Columbia and a lot more countries fall under Telenovelas yes they are Scripted as a show but they are Telenovela as a Genre so they are BOTH!
