About dpratt

I first became interested in TVmaze in early 2016 when I was looking forward to some of my favorite shows and I noticed that the premieres were either not listed or were listed with incorrect dates. Good Witch was chiefly among the shows that interested me because all the listings I found for this show were in some way inadequate and I wanted to improve the listings for the benefit of others and to show my appreciation for this television series. Since then I have started adding information to the index for a variety of things just for the pleasure of contributing.

I aim to add accurate information for the benefit of a well organized index.

Monsters Episode

Monsters

I was disappointed with the ending. Not just because Georgia got away with serial murder but because Ginny knows her mom is a con artist and serial killer. So she must know that Austin's dad being a bad guy might just be another one of Georgia's manipulations. But now Ginny has turned Austin against him. Not to mention all the other bad stuff she's got away with including causing Austin to perjure himself which he will surely regret for the rest of his life.

Having Georgia be found not guilty was too predictable and I'm disappointed that they would take that route. I would love to see them somehow make up for it in Season 4, but I doubt it.

Word to the wise, don't watch this series on YouTube if you are not a channel member except as a last resort. YouTube's Season 1 episodes 11-40 were later renumbered to 1-30 and the episodes originally numbered 1-10 are missing. But if you watch on other streaming platforms such as Revry or Hoopla they are all there. (They combined 5 at a time so the total count is 8 episodes instead of 40.)

Revry and other platforms also have most of the Vimeo exclusives, including Season 4's Runaways about Tabby and Sabina. Revry isn't perfect because it censors swear words, but you can watch most of Flunk on its free tier with minimal ads.

As I'm watching this I can't stop thinking that in real life California doesn't uphold non-compete agreements. I get that creative license allows for unlikely plot devices to move the plot forward, but it goes to show the lack of imagination in the writers room for this show. As does getting real world celebrities to join the cast such as Carol Burnett. And just the premise of making the show about comedy writers in the first place.

These are all signs of lack of imagination. As was the last episode where they shot in Singapore for no apparent reason.

I'm not saying writing comedy is easy especially these days where you're not allowed to accidentally offend the woke mob, but they could try a little harder. Then again HBO doesn't have a good track record. So I guess it's par for the course.

I'm not saying that there isn't anything endearing about the show. But they could do better.
