In addition to Akito and Yurika, Ruri is the star of the show as well. She narrates in practically every episode, including the opening title cards. However, the " In The Next Episode " at the end is narrated by any of the characters. Sparkley Silver haired Ruri is a young preteen princess whose family rules a space station not unlike Switzerland. They sent her away for genetic enhancement. The only people that seemed to have survived the brutal, neglected upbringing is the immediate family. When confronting her school principal, she refused the bank account that was given to her for a few reasons. The school, now closed, needed the funds anyways. She does not do that much with her family either, since Nergal generously provides her with any thing she needs. She also is very close to her ship and crew. She is also close to the Nadesco herself, who identifies herself with a personality named Omoikane. Ruri's position is Science Officer, and is also referred to as Operations Director, and Systems Administrator. Eventually, she is promoted to Captain after the fleet expands. She is devoted to her work with out any distractions, and calls her crew mates a bunch of fools, or otherwise idiots. She even goes as far as to apologize to the viewing audience how much of a let down they are. The reason why she is so very determined is be cause she is a young child that does not intend to pursue any relationships yet. The only other girl that does not have that type of interest in Akito is Inez, because Inez subconsciously remembers Akito differently. These memories are from Inez's childhood, when she was still very young, and Akito was much older. Ruri and Omoikane must work together several times in an attempt both discover and to secretly thwart attempts of being commandeered.
