Formerly emancipated Shinji Ikari now has the opportunity to find out about what happened to his parents. He is recruited by his father to work at N.E.R.V. without a choice, and is now assigned to be raised by Misato. As a result of severe manipulation, he has destructive internal conflicts yet is ideally peaceful. He is able to release this energy build up by fighting Angels with Eva machines; One such machine is secretly the reincarnation of his mother.
