A 15-year-old girl reports that her step-father has been molesting her, and she's removed from the home. Circumstances arise so that Nick begins to question the veracity of her claims. Nick's father has a decision to make about assisting a potential client, since their ancestors' histories are entwined; this arouses memories, emotions and loyalties to be explored.
