Born in Hollywood, California, Yvette Mimieux began her career in 1959 in episodes of Yancy Derringer and Bold Venture at the age of 17. Her first film role in 1960, a small part in Home from the Hill, ended up on the cutting room floor. Producers were sufficiently impressed by her performance to cast her in Platinum High School, which won her a Golden Globe nomination, and landed her in her next role in the box office hit The Time Machine.
Yvette Mimieux died of natural causes at age 80.
