The Gazette journalists, Daisy Channing and Simon Olenski, need to reach pro basketball player Orlandio Spence to ask him about a compromising photo that connects him to the story they are investigating. Orlandio's agent happens to be Simon's douche-y cousin, Greggor Woods. When they were kids, Greggor would play Simon one on one to exhaustion. Table tennis, basketball, whatever the game, Greggor would win and rub Simon's nose in it. Now, Greggor texts him a photo whenever he buys something new. Bentley! Patek Phillipe Watch! It's like Greggor delights in running his own 'rich guy on instagram' account for Simon's benefit.
Greggor moves in a world of VIP sections and incredibly rich new money and he has to guide young men and women amongst shark infested waters. He is always pulling one favour to pay for another and it looks like he always has ten plates up in the air and he is moving mountains to make sure it doesn't come crashing down.
Daisy convinces Simon to put personal feelings aside and take advantage of his connection to help them arrange a meet with Orlandio. But before Greggor will set up a meeting with the Rattlers ballplayer, he requests Simon pass along some information to the sports editor at The Gazette that, if it's published, will help him negotiate Orlandio's upcoming contract.
