The problem with this story, and its a big one, is that it fails to mention what really caused this situation in the first place. In 2009 hundreds of thousands (possibly in the millions) of Uyghur muslims in the city of Urumqi took to the streets attacking and brutally massacring hundreds of Han Chinese citizens using sticks, axes, machetes etc., for no other reason than being Han Chinese. Women, children, elderly, no one was spared. In addition to this, shortly after this incident, there were groups of Uyghur muslims attacking and murdering Han Chinese citizens in populated public areas such as train stations, restaurants, and national tourist attractions around the country (Tienanmen Square being one of them). In fact, it was this extreme racial and religious discrimination and targeting that brought about the governments actions of tracking down, jailing and punishing those responsible, either directly or indirectly. The government had no choice but to take action (just as ANY country anywhere in the world has done or would do). The bottom line here is that the Uyghur muslims of Xinjiang brought this upon themselves.

There has been a long history of Uyghur muslims targeting Han Chinese in China. Everyone in China knows about the pick pocketing thieves and gangs violently attacking anyone who dare interfere with their criminal activities. Since China has recently taken this zero tolerance stance towards terrorism, there has not been another single such incident. Apparently, they got the bad guys or at the very least, the message is clear enough to keep the peace and civil order - is that a bad thing? We in the west could and should learn a lot from these tactics.. considering there are more than 20,000 murders every year in America alone. Compared with China, which is one of, if not the safest places to live on planet earth, America is a war zone.

If you want to talk about "gulag" camps, surveillance and control of citizens, crimes against humanity and so on, we need look no further than 21st century Britain itself. Or how about the UK's history in Africa? India? Asia? Americas? This entire British made anti-China program is extremely hypocritical when considering Britains track record with discrimination and extermination of many ethnic and religious groups around the world from a thousand+ years ago continuing to this very day! Absolutely ridiculous.
