Chiaki Kuriyama

   Kuriyama Chiaki is a Japanese actress, talent, model, and singer from Tsuchiura City, Ibaraki Prefecture. She graduated from Japan High School of Music. Her agency was Space Craft until 2020 when she became a freelancer.
   She has worked as a fashion model for teen magazines such as "Pichi Lemon" and "Nikola".
   In 1999, she won the 1st Miss Tokyo Walker. She made her actress debut in the movie "Shikoku".
   In 2003, her performance in "Battle Royale" caught the eye of director Quentin Tarantino and so she appeared in "Kill Bill Vol.1". The battle scene with Uma Thurman won the "Best Fight Award" in "The MTV Movie Awards 2004".
   In February 2010, she made her debut as a singer with "Ryusei no Namida", the theme song of the OVA work "Mobile Suit Gundam UC". She topped the J-POP weekly charts of Hong Kong's leading radio station "RTHK".
   In 2013, she won the Best Supporting Actress Award for "Drama of the Year 2012" selected by readers of the magazine "TVnavi" as Ebina Maiko Ebina of "ATARU". In March 2014, she received the "Asia Rising Star Award" at the "Asia Film Awards (AFA) Special Ceremony".
