In City on Fire, a NYU student is shot in Central Park on the Fourth of July, 2003. Samantha Yeung is alone; there are no witnesses and very little physical evidence. Her friends' band is playing her favorite downtown club but she leaves to meet someone, promising to return. She never does. As the crime against Samantha is investigated, she's revealed to be the crucial connection between a series of mysterious citywide fires, the downtown music scene, and a wealthy uptown real estate family fraying under the strain of the many secrets they keep.

Yep, I came back to say that I've watched the whole 8 episodes (binged the last 4 in one sitting!). Just to get past the first episode took me 4 attempts as I kept falling asleep on it. I didn't have anything else on my watchlist but City on Fire and found myself entertained after the 3rd episode... It's a great story, well told! I hope the serie will be given the chance for a sequel, but if not, the last episode has a really satisfying ending.
