Not "poke fun of". Seth is a huge Trek fan, even appearing in Enterprise. Multiple guest cast are former Trek actors, and the doctor was even a regular on DS9 (married Sisko). It was a tribute to Trek, just done with additional humor.
Really enjoyed this episode - quite funny.
This show is really enjoyable. I think it originally intended to poke fun at StarTrek, but it has developed into a real space adventure that can stand on its own.
This was such a wonderful episode.
One of my favorites of the series. My favorite episodes on STNG, DS9, and Voyager were the ones that examined our humanity and this episode clearly captures that. Also there is a special guest star from Voyager. I think the show is really hitting its stride this season, no doubt helped by Brandon Braga as well as well known writers from the the Star Trek universe.
