Episode one when Mekhi Phifer (as Markus Killebrew) while jogging and the cops pull up, are the writers dumb or are they playing into the game. As a free man (no matter what colour) if you have not committed a crime, you do not need to ID. They need reasonable articulable suspicion, in other words to believe that a crime has been or is about to be committed. They may arrest you, if they are dumb cops, but that is what Lawyers are for, to sue the unlawful acts of cops that have no clue of the law, ignorance of the law is no excuse, the Lawyer will go after their Qualified immunity
