I don't know if this was funny in 1984, but in 2022 it certainly makes my stomach turn. There are several other episodes too which involve physical violence and emotional abuse between these two. A really unhealthy relationship which gets remembered as a great TV love story. But it's not.
Oh, my Gosh! Why would Sam and Diane fighting together in the bar alone? They were slapping and hit together. They were nose grabbing. That hurts.
