Derek Young was one of BattleBots' most famous competitors and one of the few to hail from Canada. He built three robots throughout the show's three-year lifespan: Son of Smashy, Pressure Drop and Complete Control. Each of these were successful and well-known competitors.
Derek Young brought Complete Control out of retirement with the ABC reboot but had less success. Unfortunately, Derek has decided to retire from robotic combat due to not having the time anymore. Regardless, Derek was able to be a guest judge with Lisa Winter for the 3rd season of the rebooted BattleBots on Discovery.
