American Crime Story: The People Vs. OJ Simpson

108703.jpgYou've heard the hype. You've seen the ads. Watch it, because it is worth watching, not just because everyone is talking about it. Not because nearly everyone you know is in it, watch it because if the premiere is any indication as to how this show will be, it's going to be a great season.

Have no idea what I'm talking about, then check out the trailer below. (Might be blocked in your country)

Seriously, after watching that trailer, I have chills. This show is excellent and the performances, just in the first episode alone are outstanding. I just want to comment on some of my personal stand outs from that first episode.

Full disclosure, I'm not old enough to remember the Bronco chase in LA but I do know enough about OJ to understand what's going on. I'm very interested in watching this because I don't know enough of what happened. And after listening to a podcast with the creators Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski I'm so in. This show is based off the book The Run of His Life by Jeffrey Toobin and a lot of factual information has been injected within this show.

Courtney B. Vance as Johnnie Cochran is unreal. If you're a fan of Law and Order Criminal Intent from his appearances as ADA Carver. He is unrecognizable in the best way. In the first episode alone, I'm blown away by his performance and cannot wait to see what else he has up his sleeve.

Sarah Paulson as Marcia Clark. Seriously, Google Marcia Clark. She and Sarah Paulson look like twins. The way she plays this character is unreal. You can see her chomping at the bit to get OJ and struggling to restrain herself from attacking and remaining professional. Huge fan of hers and cannot wait to see what else she has for us.

David Schwimmer as Robert Kardashian. He is perfection in this role, although I have to say, I haven't seen a lot from him yet, but I can't wait. You can see the gears turning internally within him already and I cannot wait for him to crack, which he will.

Cuba Gooding Jr. as OJ Simpson, not so much. He wasn't featured a lot within the first episode and the scenes that he was featured in, he didn't come across very well. He didn't seem to embody the character and I just wasn't as invested within him as I were the other characters.

But in all seriousness, watch this show. Just looking through the cast page you'll see that Nathan Lane, Bruce Greenwood, Selma Blaire, John freaking Travolta, Connie Britton, Malcolm Jamal Warner, Chris Bauer, and Kenneth Choi all actors who will recognize are involved within this show.

Watch it and as far as I can tell, you will not be disappointed. If you have, what are your thoughts so far? Comment below!

Wow what a brilliant show ! From John Travolta's performance as Robert Shapiro to Nathan Lane as F. Lee Bailey. I love all the detail Ryan Murphy puts into each and every episode. As I've only heard about O.J when it happened I was intrigued about this show and it doesn't disappoint
