Rita Gilbride

Originally from Vancouver, she worked for a number of years as a health care professional down south before burning out. She came North fifteen years ago, fell in love with it, and has carved a niche for herself as a Nurse Practitioner, based in the tiny community of Sibbeston Lake. She's another example of someone who has reinvented herself in the North, and for the past five years that reinvention has involved a close-buddies-with-privileges relationship with Mel. Rita doesn't ask for a whole lot beyond complete honesty. But she also knows Mel better than anyone, with the exception of Krista, and values him deeply.
