Naomi Oates Harper

Naomi used to live next door to one of their houses, and was recently divorced. Her former husband scammed both Naomi and new husband Vinton which caused her to lose the house in the very messy divorce. Vinton and Naomi have no choice to stay with Thelma. They hate their Basement room which is next to a massive water heater. It was never explained how they heat their houses in Raytown, Missouri so what we see behind the chicken wire partition is a boiler. Naomi frequently clashes with Thelma as she is an inadequate cook and not as good as Thelma and Iola. However, she is an expert interior decorator, and wishes that she could help Thelma clean and participate in hobbies that Aunt Fran and Iola enjoy with Thelma. Iola has eyes for only Vinton which results in friction also. Naomi her self frequently expresses her self most unbecoming as a lady, much to the chagrin of Thelma. Despite this, both Vinton and Naomi are seriously dedicated to their jobs outside the house. Naomi is an expert Supermarket Employee and eventually, with the help of Iola and Thelma, gets promoted. It is unknown if she has any children from her previous marriage. She has a daughter with Vinton that she named Tiffany Thelma Harper, and two stepchildren with Vinton.
