Hassan's earliest memories were living in a UN refugee camp in Kenya. What he doesn't remember is that his family walked from Sinka-Dheer, Somalia, a village 20 km south of Mogadishu. After his father's death in the camp, a Canadian nurse sponsored his family and they all made it to Toronto when he was twelve.
In Toronto, Hassan met with many things he'd never seen before. Running water, electricity and...school. He was light years behind, illiterate in both Somali and English and constantly in fights. He needed somewhere to belong, and he found brothers in the Mogadishu boyz – a local gang. After getting into real trouble, he turned his life around with the help of his friend's sister, Xannan, who he fell in love with.
He got a job as a driver with Eric Lawson, the developer, but soon Lawson pulled him back into the life he was trying to escape. Hassan wanted a way out and he had a plan. Unfortunately best laid plans...and things literally blew up in his face, causing the death of his best friend, and now he's on the run and has no clue what his next move is. All he knows is that he's got a helluva story to tell, and he hopes that Daisy can convince her boss to pay what it's worth.
